Ginger Warmth

I started my Level 2 Aromatherapy training and part of my studies is to write up my own Materia Aromatica for ten essential oils. Funnily enough, I had already started writing my own because I use several different sources and I need a way to keep all that info. I also need a way to search this info - Boolean searches to be exact - because when I am thinking up blends I want to be able to search something like uplifting AND base, for example. So after checking out some options I decided on OneNote. It allows for Boolean searches and what I use is not subscription based.

 

I turned in my info on Ginger (Zingiber officinale) and here‘s some highlights:

 

  • Ginger is excellent for digestive issues, like nausea and general malaise;
  • It’s warming and has antispasmodic properties which helps you relax;
  • It helps with respiration, specifically loosening phlegm and mucous; and
  • Emotionally Ginger is energizing, uplifting, and motivating.

 

Not to mention it’s super yummy smelling: spicy, sweet, and a lovely citrusy.
