I haven’t given up on (Muhuh)u

Yesterday I created a blend using Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), and Muhuhu (Brachylaena hutchinsii). I didn’t like it very much. I don’t know if its the Grapefruit or the RC - it’s hard to describe why exactly, but I feel like diffusing it made me feel cold - which is the opposite of the campfire feeling Muhuhu is supposed to invoke. I think the Roman Chamomile is really overpowering and even though it is a middle-top note, I think using more than the recommended 4 drops is too much in a diffuser blend. (5 drops for top note, 4 drops for middle, 3 drops for base for 1 oz of carrier oil or to a diffuser.) I experimented with increasing the Muhuhu and decreasing the RC and it was still too overpowering. Now I am diffusing 6 drops Muhuhu and 3 drops Grapefruit and it is OK.

I refuse to give up on Muhuhu and am looking for a blend that will work. Considering it is midday, I am can use stimulating oils too. (Yesterday it was late at night, so I limited myself to calming oils…) Sitting with the idea of a campfire, what came to mind was a forest, smores, relaxing with friends and family… so the blend I came up with for today is Muhuhu, Clove Bud (Eugenia caryophylatta) and Pine (Pinus sylvestris). I am also throwing the 5-4-3 out the window and just going with my intuition.
