Day 17

· Blends,Singles
broken image

My nebulizer arrived today so I thought I would make a blend that includes an oil that I find doesn’t diffuse that well with water - Roman Chamomile. I find the aroma coming from a nebulizer to be so much truer. The scent is closer to what you would smell from the bottle. I am definitely sticking with it. I think the water diffusers emit more fragrance into the air, but it’s diluted down. And, with certain oils like RC and citrus oils, I find the scent “hollow”. Right now that’s the best way I can describe it… Here’s the blend for the day which I love: Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis), and Himalayan Cedarwood (Cedrus deodara). I offer this blend to those who are overwhelmed and can’t stop worrying. These oils provide calm and emotional fortitude. Himalayan Cedarwood in particular provides a sense of perseverance and endurance. The tree, and its close relative the Atlas Cedarwood, can endure for thousands of years. One important thing to note, I just learned that the Atlas Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) is endangered and near extinction. Therefore, moving forward, I will be using Himalayan Cedarwood instead. Looking over the GS/MS reports of each (HC and AC), I notice that they both have a similar amount of the same chemical constituents:

  • Himalayan Cedarwood: beta-Himachalene 35.67%, alpha-Himachalene 13.47%, (E)-alpha-Atlantone 10.25%, gamma-Himachalene 8.39%, (4R,8S)-Deodarone 6.12%, allo-Himachalol 4.18%
  • Atlas Cedarwood: beta-Himachalene 36.88%, alpha-Himachalene 15.56%, gamma-Himachalene 9.93%, (E)-alpha-Atlantone 3.59%, a-dehydro-ar-Himachalene 2.42%, (4R,8S) Deodarone 2.06%

What these compounds mean and how they affect the body is for another post on another day. But, I hope you enjoy the blend.
