These are the latest wording and citation updates for Sufi Book of Essential Oils. They will be included in the next edition, whenever it is published, so readers can have the most accurate and accessible version possible. - p. 33 – Changed “followers” to “female followers” in reference to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s warning about wearing personal perfume to the mosque.

Sufi Book of Essential Oils is an encyclopedia of essential oils that promotes a spiritual approach to aromatherapy. It builds upon Islamic mysticism, known as Sufism, and modern aromatherapy, the practice of using essential oils to enhance well-being. Most contemporary aromatherapy encyclopedias include detailed profiles of an essential oil’s botanical properties and physical, mental, and emotional uses. Rarely do these profiles include spiritual uses, and if they do, none are from a Sufi or Islamic perspective. This book presents the essential oil’s spiritual use, or Mystical Use, inspired by Sufi teachings of the Divine Names.
