Turmeric

I was very nervous about using Turmeric (Curcuma longa). Nervous because it has such a distinct culinary use and aroma that I didn't want it to overwhelm my blend. But, I wanted to do something with it because Turmeric is such a powerful oil. The rhizome has been used in South Asia and India for centuries as medicine for a multitude of health issues Energetically, it is warm and positive.

I played around and used my intuition and came up with a blend by adding Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) and Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana). And, I really like it.

Turmeric blends well with citrus - which Bergamot is. Sweet Marjoram blends well with spices, which Turmeric is. What I find so interesting that this blend uses ingredients from different parts of the world, and it works. My Turmeric oil is from India, Bergamot from Italy, and Sweet Marjoram from Egypt. Reminds me of the Spice Trade on the Silk Road...

All three oils have been used as an analgesic, diuretic, and tonic for overall wellness, for digestive and dermal issues, and to help with depression. Energetically, all three oils are warming and positive. Enjoy!
